Write in any comments or suggestions you have to make this a better event on the other side of this survey. See below….

Suggestions:

  • Tees were too short
  • Third Nine Contest was confusing – thought we were playing another nine holes of golf
  • Not sure what the Third Nine Contest was all about.
  • More scoring variety – say 8 foot circle also.

All of these are good points – and to address these observations, I submit the following thoughts:

  • I heard a few comments about the tee lengths and when we go to a Regional or National event, we will let each golf course decide the number of teeing areas and tee lengths are best for their players.
    • I can see some putting the “Players” tees separate in some more challenging spots (i.e.; in sand traps, behind trees, hitting over water)
    •  I can envision putting the seniors and/or couples on the back or middle tees so they can hit most all the clubs in their bag (from 55 to 64, the seniors are not dead yet!).
  • I can see the “Third Nine Contest” could be confusing (as also noted in the low survey question score) and we will consider renaming that – maybe the “Finals Contest” (as the answers to this survey will be the way that everyone (except the Players Division) qualifies for the Finals event).
  • We have tried different scoring varieties and have found that the 3 targets (the green, the 3 foot circle, and the hole) are best for ease of understanding the scoring system and for the pace of play.

From the actual and survey results, we have found that the event has achieved our basic goals: being well accepted (91% would play again), dealt with the pace of play and slow play (95% enjoyed the pace of play), entry fee was affordable (85% said “just right”) and most everyone felt they had a chance to win prizes versus other events (95% said so).

The grass roots component of our promotion was also apparent as 90% of the field heard about the event through email or word of mouth.

I also am pleased that 95% of the players might consider (65% Yes, 30% maybe) patronizing our sponsor TaylorMade Performance Labs. By the way, the gift certificate of $100 is transferable – call Brad Syslo at 708-679-6700 for more information or email Brad@TMPLabs.com or check out TMPLabs.com
